it's me.

Self-driven with a knack for the hands-on.

"Kita buat dia" is my dad's Malay catch-phrase which loosely translates to when there's a will, there's a way. His tendency to "do-it-yourself" just about anything, me geeking out when I understand how things work, and the priceless hours we bonded watching Discovery Channel's "How It's Made" really drove that innate curiosity through my years growing up.

What started as an affinity to the natural sciences just because (science is cool!!) evolved into a deep interest and realisation that one can view the human body akin to a machine, all systems working in sync, 24/7, 365 days a year. Medicine is an art, and I was blessed to have been able to experience different genres of the art live through my rotations in Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesiology, Orthopaedics, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Forensic Psychiatry. It is an understatement to say that it was both mentally stimulating and humbling.

But clinical medicine is not the only thing that turns my gears.

I derive joy in cultivating my creativity through the lens of technical and organisational skills. Some snippets include farming, podcasting, front-end web development, carpentry, and workflow efficiency. I was lucky to have met like-minded people along the way that encouraged such a growth, so much so that half of my medical school years was dedicated to pioneering a student organisation across the Malaysian, UK, and Singapore campuses of Newcastle University aimed to tackle the UN SDG.

Perhaps a master of none, but as inspired by the great polymaths like Thomas J. Fogarty & Homer H. Stryker, I'm keen to dive deeper into innovating current practices especially when there's nature-inspired elements in the mix. It keeps me adaptable and allows my creative juices to flow.
